Broadband aggregation routers for fiber and fixed wireless ISPs

IP Infusion delivers the broadband aggregation router: OcNOS-SP preloaded on qualified routers that collect OLT and fixed wireless uplinks, shape each service, and carry it to the core over EVPN, VPLS or L3VPN on MPLS or SR-MPLS, under one support contract.

Keep voice and video ahead of bulk traffic

In the busy hour, every service on an OLT or tower uplink competes for the same capacity. OcNOS-SP gives each service VLAN its own queue with a shaped rate, so voice and IPTV do not wait behind bulk downloads.

The same busy uplink, two ways to queue it

An aggregation router collects traffic from an OLT and a fixed wireless tower onto one uplink. The traffic uses one shared queue, or a separate queue with a shaped rate for each service OLTfiber Towerfixed wireless AggregationOcNOS-SP IP coreMPLS, SR-MPLS Uplink in the busy hour One queue for every service Voice and IPTV may wait behind bulk traffic Voice, strict priority IPTV, shaped Business, shaped Residential, WRED Voice IPTV Business Residential bulk

One shared queue. Every service waits in the same uplink queue. When bulk downloads fill it in the busy hour, voice and IPTV packets may wait behind them.

Questions about the broadband aggregation router.

It collects traffic from OLT uplinks and fixed wireless towers and hands it to the IP core. OcNOS-SP shapes each service on the way and carries it over EVPN, VPLS or L3VPN on MPLS or SR-MPLS.
A compact router that connects access sites to the aggregation layer. The Edgecore AS7535-28XB and the UfiSpace S9510-28DC fit the role: Qumran 2A, 800 Gbps, with 24 x 25G, 2 x 100G and 2 x 400G ports.
OcNOS-SP runs on 26 Edgecore and UfiSpace platforms from 32 Gbps to 14.4 Tbps. 300 Gbps routers fit POP and tower sites. 800 Gbps routers fit pre-aggregation. 2.4 to 4.8 Tbps routers fit dense OLT and regional aggregation.
Service queuing gives each service VLAN its own queue with a shaped rate. Strict priority serves voice first, WFQ shares capacity among the other queues, WRED can drop packets before bulk queues fill, and up to three queuing levels apply. IGMP and PIM-SM carry IPTV multicast.
Yes. SR ECMP spreads traffic over several uplinks, BFD detects a failed link, VRRP backs up the gateway, and TI-LFA moves traffic to a precomputed backup path on SR-MPLS. EVPN multihoming dual-homes the access.
Yes. The same OcNOS-SP software runs on routers from 300 Gbps to 14.4 Tbps. You can add or replace routers as capacity needs change and keep the same software and operations.
