The Challenge & the Outcome

NTT DATA partnered with IP Infusion to take disaggregated open networking solutions to market, offering OcNOS-powered Cell Site Routers, Routed Optical Networking, Aggregation Routers, and Data Center software on white box hardware.

Outcome: The partnership gives network operators broader disaggregated choices, lower total cost of ownership, and a more flexible supply chain aligned with Telecom Infra Project standards.

NTT DATA, a global IT and business services leader headquartered in Tokyo, partnered with IP Infusion to bring disaggregated open networking solutions to network operators. The strategic partnership pairs NTT DATA’s systems integration reach with IP Infusion’s OcNOS software portfolio across a broad selection of white box hardware, giving operators greater scalability and supplier choice.

The Challenge

Network operators want to move away from vertically integrated, single-vendor stacks toward open, standards-based architectures that lower total cost of ownership and broaden the supply chain. Delivering that shift at carrier scale requires more than software: it calls for a systems integrator that can package hardware, software, and services into deployable solutions.

The Solution

NTT DATA selected IP Infusion as a strategic partner to take open networking solutions to market on white box hardware. The collaboration was initiated through the Telecom Infra Project (TIP), where both companies are members, and aligns with TIP work on Disaggregated Cell Site Gateways (DCSG) and the Cassini routed optical networking project.

Under the partnership, NTT DATA offers IP Infusion software products as standalone or bundled solutions, including:

  • Cell Site Routers built on the DCSG specification
  • Routed Optical Networking based on the TIP Cassini project
  • Aggregation Router solutions
  • Data Center networking software, including OcNOS DC and OcNOS SP

Outcomes

“We are deeply committed to accelerating network disaggregation throughout our global ecosystem of customers and partners,” said Teodoro López Palacios, Partner, Telecom Sector at NTT DATA Europe and LATAM. “IP Infusion is a proven leader in open networking, providing award-winning and field-tested solutions that reduce total cost of ownership while expanding services.”

The alliance gives joint customers:

  • A broader portfolio of disaggregated solutions spanning access, aggregation, routed optical, and data center
  • Choice of white box hardware paired with field-tested OcNOS software
  • Lower total cost of ownership compared with traditional integrated network platforms
  • A stronger, more flexible supply chain backed by TIP-aligned standards

Why IP Infusion

IP Infusion’s OcNOS platform lets operators disaggregate their networks, streamline operations, and reduce total cost of ownership. TIP recognized IP Infusion’s DCSG solution with the TIP Validated Solution Gold Badge in 2022 for meeting the requirements set by the TIP Open Optical Packet Transport (OOPT) group, making it a natural fit for NTT DATA’s open-networking go-to-market.

IP Infusion is a proven leader in open networking, providing award-winning and field-tested solutions that reduce total cost of ownership while expanding services. We are excited to help propel innovation, greater access, and better network outcomes to more users.
