uGrid Network, a British Columbia-based supplier of CATV and FTTH/HFC products founded in 2016, selected IP Infusion’s OcNOS bundled with UfiSpace white box hardware to expand bandwidth and reach across its fiber footprint. The custom network operating package delivered a site-to-site ring capacity upgrade from 1G to 100G and enabled new transport services in under three months, while lowering total cost of ownership.
The Challenge
uGrid needed to scale its access and aggregation network for North American CATV, FTTH and HFC customers without locking into a proprietary stack. The team prioritized in-band management, fast failover between redundant links, and a clean integration into the existing fiber plant. Migration pain points and long time to market with traditional vendors had to be eliminated.
The Solution
uGrid deployed OcNOS SP on UfiSpace’s S9500-30XS disaggregated cell site gateways, distributed by IP Infusion’s value-added partner EPS Global. Proof-of-concept was confirmed quickly and the integration was completed inside three months.
