SANTA CLARA, California – July 7, 2016 – IP Infusion, Inc., a leader in disaggregated networking solutions, today announced that its new release of OcNOS™, the first, full-featured network operating system for telecom, data center and enterprise networking, now supports open network switches from Edgecore Networks, the leading contributor of network designs to the Open Compute Project. With the release of OcNOS 1.2, OcNOS is now available on the Edgecore AS5812-54X,a 10GbE/40GbE switch based on Broadcom StrataXGS Trident II+ switch silicon, and the AS7712-32X, a100GbE switch based on Broadcom StrataXGS Tomahawk switch silicon.
OcNOS is a modular, disaggregated, high-performance network operating system for Open Compute Platforms. The highly available and scalable OcNOS architecture is optimized for both physical and virtual environments, with extensive support for IP/MPLS routing, switching, and security. The extensible software architecture allows network operators to keep pace with evolving network needs, reducing the time to deploy new services while lowering costs for network operations.
“Today’s new approaches in open networking, SDN, and NFV are enabling cloud service providers, telecom service providers and enterprises to exploit next-generation data center designs that deliver more services, at lower costs, in faster timeframes,” said George Tchaparian, CEO, Edgecore Networks. “Edgecore is pleased to be collaborating with IP Infusion to offer customers the new OcNOS network operating system on Edgecore’s open networking switches, as a robust, high function NOS for these new cloud and telecom infrastructures.”
OcNOS-based solutions are optimized for service agility, scalability and resiliency. With support for common software for multiple deployments and hardware, OcNOS gives carrier and enterprise class customers the foundation for a network that is much faster, simpler and more affordable.
“The demand for large-scale data centers to be much faster, simpler and more affordable, is requiring enterprises and service providers to seek solutions which offer greater flexibility, extensive enterprise and data center feature sets, higher degrees of scalability and modularity,” said Kiyo Oishi, CEO and president of IP Infusion. “Together with Edgecore Networks, IP Infusion will offer the power of OcNOS more quickly to enterprises and service providers who want an Open Compute standards-based solution.”
“EPS Global would like to congratulate Edgecore Networks and IP Infusion on the announcement of their collaboration,” said Alan Fagan, sales manager for North America at EPS Global. “As partners to both Edgecore and IP Infusion, we at EPS Global are looking forward to contributing to the success of this alliance by delivering best in breed network solutions that are aligned with the Open Compute Project.”
“Champion ONE has long been a customer advocate of open-based standards and open networking,” said Champion ONE CEO John Jutila. “We’re excited to partner with Edgecore Networks and IP Infusion to support this rapidly growing customer migration. Platform customers will gain another layer of assurance through coupling our carrier-grade universal optical transceivers across both hardware and software platforms. End users will have the confidence of knowing they are deploying a best-in-class solution while capitalizing on all the benefits that open networking technologies deliver.”
