IP Infusion Showcases Cutting-Edge Open Solutions In Network Disaggregation At Optical Fiber Communication Conference

Join us at the Optical Fiber Communication Conference (OFC) 2025 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. We will be showcasing our latest disaggregation functionalities in two live demonstrations at partner booths, highlighting the integration of Network Disaggregation and Open Optics in OcNOS.

Historically, the networking domain and optical domains were operated separately. By integrating these functions, we can minimize the losses associated with the opto-electronic conversion that made this type of networking complex and cumbersome in the past. Open networking technologies today can support a highly resilient photonic networks that compute applications will require.

Network disaggregation involves running a Network Operating System on the open compute certified commodity hardware. Open Optical technologies extends this disaggregation concept to the optics field, where vendor neutral coherent transceivers can be managed by standard protocols implemented in the NOS. OpenConfig drives this further by facilitating the management of the network by the controller, managing the networking domain and optical domain together!

Booth 5029 – IOWN Networking Hub by NTT

This demonstration is a great collaboration of multiple companies under different forums to showcase an open specification based All Photonic Network (APN).

In this demonstration, we can see how controllers are controlling both IP network and optical network using open solutions. Witness here how IP Infusion’s OcNOS implements CMIS standards to work with Coherent ZR+ transceivers and opens up the NetConf OpenConfig interface to controllers to configure and manage these transceivers, apart from L2/L3 controller managing the device using OpenConfig.

Booth (1431) Discover Fujitsu’s IPoDWDM Solution

In collaboration with Fujitsu and UfiSpace, we will be showcasing S9510-28DC powered by IP Infusion OcNOS as part of Fujitsu’s IPoDWDM solution. This showcase illustrates the seamless integration of Fujitsu’s Optical Line System (OLS) with the IP layer via its Virtuora Network Controller, highlighting operational simplicity, scalability and efficiency of its open networking approach for transport solutions.
