課題と成果

IzarLink, a French regional telecommunications operator, deployed OcNOS with Pine Networks to modernize its data center core, replacing legacy switches with a resilient EVPN-VXLAN architecture that aggregates 25G access into a redundant 100G core.

The Challenge

IzarLink serves professional and public-sector customers across the French Basque Country: Pays Basque, Béarn and Landes. It delivers high-performance connectivity, secure data exchange, and infrastructure services, and demand for all three was rising faster than its legacy data center core could absorb.

  • Increase data center core capacity beyond the legacy Arista DCS7148-SX platform
  • Keep the ISO 27001 and HDS (Health Data Hosting) certifications in force through the upgrade
  • Eliminate vendor lock-in and gain hardware independence
  • Reduce long-term total cost of ownership across the next decade

The Solution

IzarLink selected OcNOS to power a resilient EVPN-VXLAN core that interconnects its data centers and peering locations. The design lifts 25G access ports into a 100G core built with redundancy, and it supports BGP, OSPF, multi-homing, and real-time streaming telemetry. A simple licensing model keeps the software independent of the hardware it runs on.

Pine Networks, the system integrator on the project, managed the integration and translated IzarLink's design goals into a production-ready deployment that coexists with the operator's existing Cisco and MikroTik infrastructure.

成果

Replacing the Arista DCS7148-SX switches cost IzarLink none of its accreditation: ISO 27001 and HDS compliance carried through the upgrade, which is what keeps regulated health data on the platform. Hardware independence also changes the economics, because IzarLink can now time capacity purchases to its own plan rather than a vendor's refresh cycle.

  • Carrier-grade scalability and stability in the data center core
  • A redundant 100G core serving 25G access, with EVPN-VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, multi-homing, and streaming telemetry
  • Hardware independence and freedom from single-vendor lock-in
  • Significantly lower long-term TCO compared with legacy vendors
  • Continued compliance with ISO 27001 and HDS regulatory standards

Why OcNOS
