The Challenge
DojoNetworks is a rapidly growing Internet Service Provider for multi-dwelling units (MDUs): apartments and multi-tenant housing, including student housing, senior housing, condominiums, and HOAs. The company has grown more than 40% per year for five consecutive years and now serves hundreds of properties nationwide. Increasing demand for services, plus the need to add new features, created pressure to upgrade in a way that was sensible, capability rich, and timely to deploy.
Dojo had been running Cisco transport network devices between sites. Traditional vendor options were costly, and lead times on chassis hardware stretched into years.
The Solution
Dojo chose an open networking strategy: IP Infusion OcNOS Aggregation Router software deployed onto Edgecore Networks open hardware, designed in partnership with IP ArchiTechs and supplied through EPS Global. OcNOS now carries the transport layer in Dojo's metro distribution networks and runs beside the Cisco, Juniper, and Ruckus gear already in the field, so the operator upgrades property by property instead of all at once.
