Running OcNOS on Edgecore Networks hardware with 10G and 100G ports, Dojo gained an incremental upgrade path that interoperates with existing Cisco, Juniper, and Ruckus equipment while cutting hardware lead times from years to days.
The Challenge
DojoNetworks specializes in Internet service for apartments and multi-tenant housing, including student housing, senior housing, condominiums, and HOAs. The company has grown more than 40% per year for five consecutive years and now serves hundreds of properties nationwide. Increasing demand for services, plus the need to add new features, created pressure to upgrade in a way that was sensible, capability rich, and timely to deploy.
Previously, Dojo used Cisco transport network devices between sites. Traditional vendor options were costly, and lead times on chassis hardware stretched into years.
The Solution
Dojo chose an open networking strategy: IP Infusion OcNOS Aggregation Router software deployed onto Edgecore Networks open hardware, designed in partnership with IP ArchiTechs and supplied through EPS Global. OcNOS now serves as the transport layer in Dojo's metro distribution networks, coexisting with the operator's installed Cisco, Juniper, and Ruckus equipment.
