OcNOS 7.0: What's New in Open Networking for AI, Transport, and Cloud

OcNOS 7.0 is now generally available. IP Infusion's award-winning open network operating system adds over 80 new features across service provider and data center use cases — from converged IP/optical transport and broadband aggregation to AI-optimized data center fabrics and automated lifecycle management.

This release is a milestone: OcNOS 7.0 is the most capable version of the platform to date, and the first to deliver native container lifecycle support, on-change streaming telemetry, and 800G AI fabric switching in a single, unified NOS.

What's New in OcNOS 7.0

OcNOS 7.0 addresses four converging demands facing network operators in 2026:

  • AI fabric performance — GPU clusters demand lossless, deterministic, low-latency Ethernet switching at 400G and 800G scale
  • Legacy transport modernization — service providers must migrate from OTN and LDP-based infrastructure to Segment Routing without a forklift upgrade
  • Converged IP/optical networking — operators are collapsing the IP and optical layers to eliminate transponders and reduce cost per bit
  • Automation at scale — poll-based monitoring is giving way to on-change streaming telemetry and infrastructure-as-code deployments
