The Challenge
Broadlinc is a Kentucky-based ISP serving rural communities, and it needed a routing platform for a grant-funded fixed wireless build-out. The WISP-focused gear the team had been using was not durable enough for the new network, while the systems usually sold to larger carriers cost more than the project could justify. Broadlinc also wanted to optimize rack space in leased facilities and steer clear of hidden costs and complex feature add-ons.
The Solution
After a remote lab demonstration by RocNet, Broadlinc chose IP Infusion's OcNOS SP, its Service Provider MPLS software, on UfiSpace hardware, buying the software and the hardware separately. The deployment supplies core routing inside EPC environments running 5G LTE, and it carries dependable broadband out to underserved rural communities across Kentucky. Broadlinc put OcNOS SP and UfiSpace into production for the fixed wireless expansion. Port density let the build fit the rack space Broadlinc already leases rather than forcing more of it, all-inclusive perpetual licensing removed the hidden-cost risk the team had flagged, and the familiar CLI let engineers run the new platform without retraining. RocNet delivered the training, the initial configurations, and the hands-on implementation.
