Gallatin Wireless Internet LLC, a wireless and fiber ISP operating as Celerity Internet in South Dakota and Wyoming and Wispwest in Montana, upgraded its network by deploying IP Infusion's OcNOS and IP Maestro on UfiSpace hardware. The move replaced a prior MikroTik and Juniper footprint and gave the operator greater scalability across edges, borders, and core, with improved performance at space-constrained tower sites.
The Challenge
Gallatin's existing MikroTik and Juniper network could not meet the scalability the company needed to support growth across the Northern Great Plains and Rockies. Tower sites with limited physical space added another constraint, and the team needed routing and MPLS capacity that could expand without rebuilding the footprint.
The Solution
Gallatin selected OcNOS-SP-MPLS running on UfiSpace hardware supporting 32G, 300G, and 800G capacities. The combination delivers compact, energy-efficient routing and MPLS for both aggregation and core roles. The operator is now migrating its entire network to the platform.
To complement OcNOS, Gallatin adopted IP Maestro, a GUI-based management tool. Implemented over a two-month period, IP Maestro provides an interface for network monitoring and configuration that simplifies day-to-day operations and improves visibility across the network.
成果
- Superior BGP router scalability on the new platform
- Compact, energy-efficient hardware that fits constrained tower sites
- Streamlined network management through the OcNOS CLI
- Improved network visibility through IP Maestro monitoring and configuration
- A future-proof footprint serving customers across South Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana
"Switching to OcNOS on UfiSpace hardware has been a game-changer for us. The performance, scalability, and ease of use have allowed us to optimize our network operations while maintaining reliability for our customers across South Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana."
Jesse DuPont, General Manager, Gallatin Wireless Internet LLC
Why OcNOS
OcNOS gave Gallatin a path to disaggregate its network and run a consistent operating system across edge, border, and core devices on UfiSpace hardware. Paired with IP Maestro, the platform supports the operator's plan to scale capacity while keeping operations manageable for a regional ISP team.
