ZebOS Overview

IP Infusion's ZebOS product suites are highly-modular and extensible arrays of intelligent software modules for Next Generation Network equipment and converged IP services. ZebOS software features a scalable, robust, carrier-class software development platform and several hardware platforms. ZebOS software enables accelerated time-to-market for Original Design Manufacturers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (ODMs/OEMs), while simplifying the path to differentiation in standards-compliant networking equipment for routing and switching, while supporting bandwidth-intensive services such as VoIP, IPTV, VOD, streaming video and online gaming.

IP Infusion's ZebOS software also supports Small Office Home Office (SOHO) gateways, wireless access, high Quality of Service (QoS) requirements, and leading-edge bandwidth management applications, and can be found in both Enterprise and Provider networks enabling core, edge, and access routing and switching implementations.

The ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite (ARS) is well positioned to support not only core, edge and access routing and switching platforms, but also to act as the standard routing protocol manager for an entire range of IPv4 and IPv6 devices.

ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite

The ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite delivers a robust, scalable, modular, high-performance Layer 2 and Layer 3 carrier-class routing and switching software solution that supports IPv4, IPv6, Multicast, Metro Ethernet, MPLS Traffic Engineering (MPLS-TE) and Virtual Private Network (VPN), as well as DiffServ protocol software. OEMs and ODMs can seamlessly integrate ZebOS ARS IP protocol modules into their networking solutions based on Linux, VxWorks or other widely-used operating systems, plus industry-leading network processors and other networking hardware to build and provision a broad range of applications, including mobile wireless, Storage Area Networking (SAN), bandwidth and traffic management, provider edge (PE), VPN, Voice-over-Internet-Protocol (VoIP) Video On Demand (VOD), and security solutions.

The ZebOS ARS includes the Network Services Manager (NSM) module, which interfaces with the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) and the Protocol Abstraction Layer (PAL) to enable communication with an underlying operating system or network device for forwarding table updates. ZebOS Advanced Integration Suite

The ZebOS Advanced Integration Suite (AIS) is an array of software modules that make up a Hardware Integration Platform (HIP). Each HIP is created for and pre-integrated with an industry-leading merchant silicon solution and operating system. ZebOS AIS HIPs are fully integrated and system tested with ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite protocol software modules on reference hardware platforms. A well-defined and extensible API between the ZebOS ARS (control plane) and the ZebOS AIS (forwarding plane) - the HAL - accommodates the easy addition of custom features and applications.

ZebOS AIS HIPs furnish comprehensive forwarding plane implementations supporting Layer 2, Layer 3 (for IPv4 and IPv6), Multicast and MPLS Traffic Engineering. ZebOS High Availability Solution
