IP Infusion today announced a distribution agreement with Dell which offers OcNOS™, the first, full-featured network operating system for data center and enterprise networking, that will deliver affordable MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) virtualization with Dell Open Networking switches, IP Infusion software and worldwide support. Under this partnership, Dell will resell the OcNOS network operating system running on Dell’s high performance Open Networking switches.
Enterprises and service providers operating modern data centers are demanding open networking infrastructures with higher capacity, less complexity and the opportunity to add new services quickly and affordably. Dell’s reseller agreement with IP Infusion helps fill the current void in the networking industry of a full-featured networking operating system for service providers and enterprises.
For this new approach to traditional MPLS virtualization, Dell worked closely with IP Infusion to help provide enterprise customers with a cost-effective and scalableMPLS-based network virtualization solution that provides secure connectivity and aggregated management. This joint solution will enable enterprise customers to adopt MPLS virtualization capabilities within their data centers and campus environments at a fraction of the cost, power, space and cooling requirements as compared to today’s market offerings. IP Infusion at Interop
At Interop Las Vegas (booth #1163), IP Infusion will demonstrate how OcNOS fills the void for an enterprise and service provider class standalone networking system for their modern data centers that’s fast, easy, affordable, and allows for fast and affordable addition of standard and new services. In addition to OcNOS, IP Infusion will be showcasing the VirNOS™ network OS for Network Functions Virtualization solutions.
If you are interested in meeting with IP Infusion at Interop, please contact Tomoko Watwood email (hyperlink to email contact – [email protected]).
OcNOS is the industry’s first carrier and enterprise network OS for Open Compute Hardware with a hybrid SDN architecture and features, a split control plane design, with modularity and programmability, scalability and hardware abstraction to operate on a variety of silicon switching chipsets and control processors. With advanced capabilities, such as extensive protocol support for MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching), OcNOS allows for greater acceptance of open compute hardware and software.
With VirNOS, IP Infusion provides a complete NFV-based software package which carrier and enterprise customers can run, as-is, on top of the standard server platform. Customers can integrate VirNOS into their software offering to add services and networks by supporting supports many networking functionalities such as MPLS,L3VPN, MPLS L2VPN, IPv4, IPv6, OSPF, ISIS, BGP, LDP, RSVP-TE, IPSec, QoS, and ACL.
OcNOS Selected as Finalist for 2015 Best of Interop Award
OcNOS, IP Infusion’s new full-featured network operating system for data center and enterprise networking, was selected as a finalist for Interop Las Vegas’ 2015 Best of Interop Awards in the networking category. OcNOS is the first network operating system to include various advanced capabilities to bring the power of the Open Compute Project, an open hardware movement, to data networking.
The 2015 Best of Interop Awards, a highlight of Interop Las Vegas 2015, honors the present and future innovations driving the IT community forward and technological advancements. The 2015 Best of Interop judges, comprised of 20 IT practitioners, analysts and award-winning IT editors, shortlisted the finalists in nine technology categories from a highly competitive pool of entries. Category winners will be selected based on in-depth briefings, product demos and business cases. Award winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 28 at 5:30 p.m. at the Interop Theater on the Expo Floor.
“It’s an honor for IP Infusion to be recognized for its technological achievement in creating OcNOS which gives enterprises and service providers the solution they have been craving for,” said Kiyo Oishi, CEO and president of IP Infusion. “Enterprises with very large data centers need to lower capital expenditures and operating costs, and OcNOS allows them to build their large-scale data center with greater agility and efficiency without being locked in with one vendor.”
Agema Systems selects OcNOS for Open Compute Systems
Agema Systems, a leading open switch provider of critical white-box rack solutions to data centers through major integrators and value added distribution channels, has selected OcNOS to build their network solutions for the Open Compute initiative. “In looking for an independent network operating system, we considered solutions that can scale to meet our customers’ needs for high-bandwidth connections between servers and automation to allow for scalability,” said Jay Huang, president, Agema Systems, Inc. “By partnering with IP Infusion, we’re able to satisfy the growing requirements of today’s cloud computing customers who need to build a scalable data center network platform with Agema’s robust network switches and OcNOS without being tied to a proprietary switch operating system.”
