OSE SYSTEMS, INTERPEAK, AND IP INFUSION COLLABORATE TO BRING
THE FIRST EMBEDDED IPV6 ROUTER REFERENCE PLATFORM TO THE MARKET
October 2, 2001, Stockholm - OSE Systems, Interpeak, and
IP Infusion announced today that they are collaborating to deliver
a full IPv6 router reference design running on the OSET real-time
operating system (RTOS), using IP Infusion's ZebOST IPv6 routing
suite, and Interpeak's IPNET TCP/IP stack. This will provide a complete
RTOS and IPv6 routing solution that can be quickly integrated into
core, edge, and access network equipment.
OSE Systems offers one of the first RTOSs to support a dual mode
IPv4/IPv6 solution using Interpeak's IPNET TCP/IP stack. IP Infusion
is working with OSE Systems and Interpeak to integrate its IPv6
based OSPFv3, BGP-4+, and RIPng routing protocol modules onto the
OSE RTOS. In addition, IP Infusion is also integrating its IPv4
routing modules for OSPFv2, BGP-4, and RIP onto the IPNET and OSE
environment. Using the OSE RTOS, embedded system manufacturers will
have the only complete IPv4/IPv6 router reference design available
on the market. Manufacturers of network equipment will be able to
quickly move IPv6 routers to market using a fully integrated real-time
OS, TCP/IP, and IPv6 routing protocol suite.
"The High Availability, Fault Tolerance and distributed processing
capabilities of the OSE RTOS allows our customers to quickly meet
a demand for IPv6 without compromising the quality of their product,"
said Kevin Pope, Product Line Manager for Network Infrastructure
Products, OSE Systems.
"Early implementations of IPv6 are emerging. To support these initial
applications, routing solutions for IPv6 are needed. Putting together
a solution has been a challenge because of the lack of integration
and testing of IPv6 components," said Gary Hemminger, VP Marketing,
IP Infusion. "Equipment manufacturers selecting this fully tested
solution will reduce their design, implementation, and testing cycle
by 6-9 months."
The baseline of Interpeak's IPNET IPv6 product has already been
proven against all WIDE IPv6 implementations (including Hitachi,
Toshiba and Keio), the INRIA IPv6 protocol stack (for FreeBSD and
NetBSD) and also against Bay Networks equipment. IP Infusion's routing
protocols are tested and proven on the WIDE 6Bone network and at
the University of New Hampshire Interoperability Laboratory (UNH
IOL).
