IP INFUSION SHOWCASES INTEROPERABILITY AT MPLS2006 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

Demonstrates Smooth Delivery of VPLS, Layer 2 and 3 VPNs and Multicast Applications Across Resilient, Hybrid Optical Transport

SAN JOSE, Calif., November 1st, 2006 -- IP Infusion, a leading provider of intelligent network software for enhanced IP services, today announced the successful completion of the Fall 2006 Isocore testing staged in Reston, Va. Major router and switch vendors, service providers, and test equipment suppliers participated in testing.

Isocore conducted Leading Edge Code (LEC) testing of resilient hybrid optical packet transport, and evaluated interoperability of vendors' implementations. Performance results were demonstrated at Isocore Internetworking Lab following the 9th MPLS International Conference.

Of particular note was the successful interoperability testing of the following IP Infusion ZebOS™ communication protocols: Layer 3 MPLS/BGP VPNs. VPLS, IP Multicast, RSVP-TE and LDP, Graceful Restart mechanisms, and Constrained Shortest Path First Computation.

“We’re extremely proud of our results at Isocore,” said Nik Wekwerth, IP Infusion VP of sales and marketing. “To show off our capabilities alongside names like Cisco, Agilent, and Alcatel is testament to our dedication to developing leading edge networking software. It also establishes the sophistication of ZebOS™ implementations.”

Isocore, with its state-of-the-art lab, conducts technology validation and certification as well as product evaluation. A major focus was IP Optical Integration and Layer 2/3 Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). During testing, multiservice interworking of ATM-Ethernet was verified for the first time within the context of hierarchical Virtual Private LAN Services (H-VPLS) supporting delivery of high and standard definition Video on Demand (VoD) services. In addition, real-time Media Delivery Index (MDI) measurements were made for MPEG-encoded video streams carried over MPLS P2MP LSP in the carrier Ethernet environment. The event also showcased, for the first time, two "flavors" of VPLS-based services implementation: LDP- and BGP-based signaling.
