IP INFUSION NAMES WILLIAM P. TAI CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

November 27, 2001, San Jose, California - IP Infusion, a leading provider of advanced networking software for the development of next generation communications, networking and wireless equipment, announced today that its Board of Directors has elected William P. Tai as its Chairman. As a General Partner of several funds managed by Institutional Venture Partners (IVP) as well as seed fund, Authentic Ventures, Tai brings to IP Infusion deep experience in guiding private technology to industry leadership.

"We are fortunate to have attracted someone with such deep technology experience as well as broad industry knowledge and an extensive network." said Nick Keating, President and CEO of IP Infusion. "Bill's guidance has been a key factor in our growth from a founding team to a revenue producing, well funded company working with industry leaders over the past year."

A general partner of Institutional Venture Partners (IVP), Tai has helped build a number of companies in the technology sector. Of the 28 companies he has worked with actively as early stage private companies, 20 have achieved a public listing or have been acquired. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of five publicly listed companies. In the technology sector these include: 8x8, Inc. (NASDAQ: EGHT), Microtune (NASDAQ: TUNE), and Transmeta (NASDAQ: TMTA).

Bill Tai's career includes establishing the semiconductor practice as a securities analyst at Alex Brown & Sons as well as management and engineering positions at Texas Instruments and LSI Logic.

"It's been a pleasure working with a company as well positioned as IP Infusion. IPI's world class technology and people have been able to quickly attract industry leaders such as Foundry Networks as a customer and key semiconductor partners." said Bill Tai. "I expect to see IP Infusion as a core provider of technology at the edge and access layer of the world's network as communications functions become distributed - much like what happened to computing functions in the migration from minicomputers to workstations and PC's."

IP Infusion designs, develops, and markets an Advanced IP Routing Suite, which is based on a unique, modular, multi-process architecture featuring control-plane components that provide route redistribution and conversion, management services, and an OS/processor abstraction layer for routing and switching modules. In this architecture, IPv4 and IPv6 Protocol Modules for OSPF, BGP, and RIP provide routing table information and updates. MPLS Modules for LDP and the MPLS Forwarder also use the control-plane components for central management and routing integration. The IP Infusion ZebOSÔ Advanced Routing Suite can be used in embedded equipment and as a route server on standard server platforms.
