IP Infusion and Consystant Create Complete
Development Solution for IP Routing
NPC East, Framingham, Mass., June 24, 2002 IP Infusion,
a leading provider of intelligent network software for enhanced
IP services, and Consystant, a provider of network processor application
software development systems, announced today they jointly created
a complete development solution for advanced IP routing. The solution
allows network equipment OEMs to accelerate product development
with proven software code while providing value added differentiation
with a powerful software design environment. Attendees of NPC 2002
East, being held in Framingham, MA, June 26-27, can view live demonstrations
in Consystant's booth #203 and IP Infusion's booth #201.
The development environment is comprised of Consystant's StrataNP2.1
software development system for Intel®'s IXP1200 Network Processor,
and IP Infusion's ZebOS intelligent network software. Control
and management plane applications are supported on various processors
supported by IP Infusion's ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite. The Consystant-IP
Infusion development solution, using the Intel® IXA Portability
Framework Control Plane APIs, verifies and tests the interoperability
of the companies' offerings. The system is built upon Intel's industry
leading IXP1200 Network Processor family.
"The network equipment market has significant time-to-market
pressures and engineering resources have to be spent on critical
performance optimization and competitive differentiation,"
stated Chuck Sannipoli, Vice President and General Manager of Network
Processor Group for IP Infusion. "IP Infusion and Consystant
have combined their energies to address the full design needs of
the market. With interoperability, customers can acquire these products
and fast track their development."
OEMs can develop data plane code for the IXP1200 using Consystant's
StrataNP2.1 using components conforming to Intel's Portability Framework.
Components are available to OEMs through Intel and third parties
supporting Intel's network processor ecosystem. StrataNP2.1 gives
OEMs the flexibility to focus development teams on enhancing data
plane application for performance enhancements, and value added
software for competitive differentiation.
"OEMs can expect to see a continued trend towards companies
like Consystant and IP Infusion to partner to address industry design
concerns," stated Ross Ortega, CEO for Consystant. "Together
our combined talents and products help mitigate risks faced by OEMs
in today's marketplace."
About IP Infusion's ZebOS Routing Suites
IP Infusion designs, develops, and markets its ZebOS family of
advanced IP routing suites, which are based on a unique, modular,
multi-process architecture featuring control-plane components that
provide route redistribution and conversion, management services,
and an OS/processor abstraction layer for routing and switching
modules. This high-performance routing software features IPv4 and
IPv6 versions of OSPF, BGP, and RIP routing protocols; MPLS, BGP-VPN,
RSVP-TE, and CR-LDP switching and signaling protocols; and Mobile
IP, virtual routing support. ZebOS software suites can be delivered
as either portable, platform-independent source code, or in server
solutions, which can be used to support proprietary systems and
includes a number of OS dependant modules to quickly build on Linux,
BSD, Solaris, VxWorks, OSE, and other popular operating systems.
Processor support for Intel® Pentium, Motorola® PowerPC,
Sun® Sparc, and MIPS are provided.
