IP Infusion's ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite Release 5.2 Offers IS-ISv6 And CSPF extensions For IS-ISv4
SAN JOSE, Calif. January 7, 2003 - IP Infusion, a leading provider of intelligent network software for enhanced IP services, announced today the availability of version 5.2 of its ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite (ARS). IP Infusion now adds Intermediate Systems-to-Intermediate-Systems for IPv6 (IS-ISv6), as well as Constraint-based Shortest Path First (CSPF) for IS-ISv4 support.
"We are pleased to announce that our ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite IS-IS implementation now supports the IPv6 protocol extensions. With the growth of peer-to-peer networking applications, IPv6 is quickly becoming a key protocol component for communications equipment vendors. Our IS-ISv6 implementation continues our leadership in the IPv6 space," said Nick Keating, President and CEO of IP Infusion. "Furthermore, we have added CSPF extensions to IS-ISv4 to provide traffic engineering solutions for vendors integrating the IS-IS protocol with an MPLS core network. We now have IGP traffic engineering support for both OSPF and IS-IS to interface with an MPLS backbone network."
About Advanced Routing Suite Version 5.2 Features
IPv6 Intermediate System-to-Intermediate System (IS-ISv6) Module
The ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite (ARS) IPv6 Intermediate System-to-Intermediate System (IS-ISv6) Module is based on link-state technology with two levels of hierarchy. It stores information about the state of links and uses that data to select paths. IS-ISv6 forwards packets directly over the underlying link-layer protocols using the Dijkstra algorithm to find the shortest path to the destination. The ZebOS IS-ISv6 modularity enables OEM customers to deliver their products in a timely manner to market. The IS-ISv6 Module is fully integrated and tested with ZebOS Network Services Module (NSM) and other ZebOS IPv6 protocol modules. The ZebOS IS-ISv6 Module is written in ANSI C.
IS-ISv4 with Constrained Shortest Path First (CSPF) Extensions
The IS-ISv4 Constrained Shortest Path First (CSPF) extensions calculates an optimum explicit route (ER) based on the specified constraints, using Traffic Engineering Database (TED) and pre-existing LSPs. The resulting ER is used by a signaling protocol, such as RSVP-TE, to setup LSPs. Currently, our CSPF module can be linked to our ISISv4-TE module, and together with RSVP-TE module provide a full Traffic Engineering solution.
