IP Infusion Releases New ZebOS® Advanced Routing Suite 7.2 Version With Extended Support For Its Layer 2 and Layer 3 Software Suites

ZebOS ARS now includes extended support for multicast routing with PIM-DM for IPv4 and IPv6, SNMP management APIs, layer 2 protocol MIBs, OSPFv3, IS-ISv4, and MPLS LDP, as well as a new Hybrid Switch Router Module and a Web based Element Manager. This newest release further deepens IP Infusion’s routing and switching software offerings and enables equipment vendors to quickly deliver feature-rich and differentiated solutions to market.

• Hierarchical Switching and Routing to facilitate the functionality of a L2/L3 switching system with the Hybrid Switch Router Module. Customers can easily design integrated switching and routing systems eliminating network bottlenecks inherent in the traditional networks that make use of a separate routing layer to interconnect LAN segments. This alternative not only provides enhanced performance but also provides equipment and maintenance costs associated with the traditional routed networks. ZebOS Release 7.2 now enables the design of systems that can operate as a switch, router, or as in integrated switch and routing system at wire speed.
• Added Web GUI support for configuration of all of the L2 protocol modules. The ZebOS Web Element Manager provides an embedded web server to support the configuration of the L2 (Bridge, STP, RSTP, MSTP, VLAN) parameters via standard Web browsers. The use of styles sheets provides the ability to change “look and feel” of the Web interface to meet any specific requirements. The styles sheets allow the customer to change the cosmetic appearance of the web pages without changing any of the dynamics of the pages.

• Expanded support for multicast routing with the addition of the Protocol Independent Multicast – Dense Mode (PIM-DM) for IPv4 and IPv6.
• Expanded SNMP Management API to support event management via generation of SNMP traps for all supported MIBs. The SNMP Agent enables row create, createAndWait, createAndGo, requestCreation and Destroy, instances of MIB rows.
• Expanded MIBs for Layer 2 protocols with the inclusion of the following MIBs:
• IEEE 802.1x MIB
• RSTP MIB
