IP INFUSION RELEASES ZEBOS ADVANCED ROUTING SUITE WITH TRAFFIC
ENGINEERING, QOS, AND HOT STANDBY ROUTER SUPPORT
August 10, 2001, San Jose, California - Industry leader
IP Infusion today announced that it has released an enhanced version
of its widely used, advanced IPv4 and IPv6 routing software, the
ZebOS" Advanced Routing Suite. ZebOS now contains a number of new
features including traffic engineering and QoS extensions to OSPF,
as well as hot standby routing using the VRRP protocol.
In development since 1996, IP Infusion's software is currently
in use at thousands of sites worldwide and is one of the most prevalent
IPv4 and IPv6 routing protocol packages on the market today. Available
now, the ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite Version 1.1 incorporates an
optional Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP) feature that
provides hot standby router support, and in addition, a rich set
of expanded OSPF features have been added to the current OSPF product.
These include: NSSA, Opaque LSA, Database Overflow and OSPF Traffic
Engineering Extensions. The ZebOS product suite supports both IPv4
and IPv6 and is designed to interoperate with Cisco, Juniper, Foundry
Networks and other popular routing systems.
"With this release of ZebOS, we have significantly expanded our
OSPF offering with traffic engineering and QoS extensions. We have
also delivered software redundancy support by implementing the VRRP
hot standby routing protocol, " said Nick Keating, President and
CEO of IP Infusion. "IP Infusion is committed to implementing the
industry's most current requirements for networking interoperability
and performance solutions."
About ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite
ZebOS contains a unique, modular, multi-process architecture, which
is built around the ZebOS Network Services Module (NSM). The NSM
provides route redistribution and conversion, management services,
and an OS/processor abstraction layer for the ZebOS Protocol Modules.
Protocol Modules for OSPF, BGP, and RIP for IPv4 and IPv6 use the
services of the NSM to provide routing table information and updates.
ZebOS, which can be used in embedded equipment and as a route server
on standard server platforms, contains a number of features that
ensure that device and system developers can quickly bring IP routing
software to market.
Delivered as portable, platform-independent source code, ZebOS
can be used to support proprietary systems and includes a number
of OS dependant modules to quickly build on Linux, BSD, Solaris,
VxWorks, OS®-9, and other popular operating systems. Processor support
for Intel® IXP1200, Intel® StrongARMT, Intel® XscaleT, Motorola®
PowerPCT, Sun® SparcT, and MIPS are provided.
