IP INFUSION ANNOUNCES THE AVAILABILITY OF ITS ZEBOS ADVANCED
ROUTING SUITET, THE INDUSTRY'S FLAGSHIP, PORTABLE NETWORKING SOFTWARE
April 3, 2001, San Jose, CA - IP Infusion, a leading supplier
of portable networking software announced today that it has begun
shipping its ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite, the industry's most advanced
software solutions designed for networking, communications, and
wireless developers.
"The availability of off-the-shelf network technologies is spawning
a revolution in the development of routing and switching platforms
for the core, edge, and access device markets. Vendors developing
these platforms need off-the-shelf, portable networking software
that provides support for the increasingly complex standards of
the internetworking and communication markets. It is simply too
costly and time consuming to develop this software from scratch.
The ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite provides these vendors with modular,
platform independent support for both IPv4 and IPv6 versions of
popular routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP and RIP," said Nick
Keating, President and CEO of IP Infusion. "The ZebOS Advanced Routing
Suite has been designed to support standard operating systems and
platforms and to be able to easily integrate with next generation
network processors and ASIC's."
The ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite contains a unique, modular, multi-process
architecture built around the Network Services Module. Protocol
Modules for OSPF, BGP, and RIP for both IPv4 and IPv6 communicate
with the Network Services module to provide routing table information
and updates. The Network Services module maintains a central routing
information base, performs route conversion, route redistribution,
and configuration management for the Protocol Modules. The ZebOS
Advanced Routing Suite has a platform independent, modular, architecture,
which allows all or portions of the suite to be easily integrated
into switch and router platforms.
"What really makes this software unique is that it is built for
support of both existing and future internetworking protocols,"
added Keating. "We offer one of the industry's first dual IPv4 and
IPv6 routing solutions. We will continue to support leading edge
IETF standards and protocols. This commitment is critical to our
customers who are continually adding services to their products.
" The ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite has been designed to interoperate
with network equipment from Cisco Systems, Juniper Networks, and
other popular network equipment manufacturers. SNMP MIB support
is provided to enable network management, billing, and provisioning
applications. The ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite has been ported to
a variety of platforms, including: VxWorks, Linux, Solaris, and
BSD.
IP Infusion is also developing MPLS, IS-IS, virtual routing, and
traffic engineering features and plans to add these features to
its suite of products. IP Infusion is a member of the Network Processor
Forum and is an active participant in the IETF standards organization.
About IP Infusion Inc.
IP Infusion builds portable networking software for the support
of next generation internetworking. With the explosion of networking
technology and Internet standards, it is more difficult for equipment
vendors to deliver solutions to the market in a timely, cost effective
manner. IP Infusion provides portable, platform independent networking
software solutions that enable equipment vendors to quickly integrate
leading edge Internet protocols into their products without the
software development expenses normally associated with complex product
development
