ACCESS and IP Infusion Announce Acquisition Closing
Yoshinari Yoshikawa, IP Infusion Cofounder, Named President and COO
SAN JOSE, CALIF., April 12, 2006 – ACCESS Co., Ltd of Japan and IP Infusion Inc. announced today that the acquisition made public in late February, closed on March 8 th. In addition, IP Infusion, a leading provider of intelligent network software for enhanced IP services, announced that Yoshinari Yoshikawa will assume the responsibilities of president and chief operating officer.
This new relationship with ACCESS comes at a strategic turning point for both companies. Last year IP Infusion had the most customer wins and its highest revenues in the company’s history. IP Infusion’s three-pronged strategy – carrier grade protocols, turnkey metro Ethernet and home networking - will enable ACCESS to be the industry leader across all tiers of the networking and consumer handheld device markets.
ACCESS has tremendous respect for the core business of IP Infusion, invented by co-founder Ishiguro Kunihiro, and developed in large part by co-founder Yoshinari Yoshikawa. ACCESS supports IP Infusion continuing to dominate in the source code modular routing and switching business, as well as IP Infusion’s emergence in the Metro Ethernet turnkey market, executed by current management. ACCESS’ decision to run IP Infusion as an independent, wholly owned subsidiary demonstrates the support for IP Infusion’s current direction.
The combination is strategic for ACCESS providing the expertise of IP Infusion and specifically Mr. Ishiguro and his team to continue to dominate the IP based networking world. The financial backing of ACCESS, with a market cap in Japan of over $3bn, gives IP Infusion resources, backing and stability lacking to IP Infusion’s competitors in all of these markets.
Yoshinari Yoshikawa and Kunihiro Ishiguro co-founded IP Infusion Inc. in San Jose in October, 1999. Since then they have helped build the most extensive suite of carrier class networking software in the industry.
The duo, together with Perry Constantine, President and CEO of IP Infusion, were the key players in brokering the recently announced acquisition of IP Infusion by ACCESS.
With the deal now closed, Perry Constantine is transitioning all day-to-day management to Yoshikawa. “My time at IP Infusion has been incredibly rewarding” commented Perry Constantine. “With ACCESS’ backing, IP Infusion is a much stronger company both financially and from a strategic perspective”.
The role of CEO will be taken by Toru Arakawa who is also CEO of ACCESS Co., Ltd of Japan.
