IP Infusion Releases New High Availability Platform to Speed Development of Carrier Ethernet Equipment

ZebOS Version 7.5's High Availability and Carrier Ethernet Standards Compliance Facilitates Development of Advanced New Switches and Routers

SAN JOSE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 24, 2007 -- IP Infusion, makers of intelligent software for next-generation network equipment for converged IP services, today announced ZebOS version 7.5, a new, carrier-class release of its robust, highly modular and scalable software development platform. ZebOS version 7.5 will launch IP Infusion into a leading position as a provider of solutions for the Carrier Ethernet market by speeding equipment vendors' time-to-market while easing the path to differentiation in standards-compliant routers and switches that support bandwidth-intensive services such as VoIP, IPTV, and streaming Internet video. ZebOS 7.5 implements standards defined by IEEE and the Metro Ethernet Forum, and introduces a solution for High Availability with state replication at Layer 2, as well as Network Resiliency at Layer 3.

With the ever-increasing demand for network resiliency to meet critical Service Level Agreements (SLAs), service providers must ensure reduced network downtime. IP Infusion's High Availability solution provides the required control plane redundancy to meet the demand for higher network service availability. The solution provides for "check-pointing" critical application states and configuration data, and it allows for the use of any middleware checkpoint solution, additionally; IP Infusion has partnered with ENEA and verified its working solution with ENEA's Element platform.

The rapid growth of new fiber-to-business services is making Ethernet the logical choice for deployment because of its service flexibility. Additional key features implemented in ZebOS 7.5 include support for Metro Ethernet Operations Administration and Management (OAM), and further integration with leading chipsets from Broadcom and other vendors. In particular, ZebOS version 7.5's Metro Ethernet features provide the scalability and flexibility equipment vendors need to deliver broadband services economically over wide area networks, and to offer higher-revenue services such as Video-on-Demand, Streaming Video, and Voice over IP (VoIP).
