IP Infusion Provides ZebOS® Middleware for Furukawa Electric's Carrier-Grade "FX7200" Router
Sunnyvale, California, October 21, 2009 — IP Infusion, an ACCESS company and provider of intelligent software for Next Generation Network (NGN) equipment manufacturers and converged IP service providers, today announced that the company has provided its ZebOS® switch/router middleware for Furukawa Electric's carrier-grade "FX7200" router targeted at carrier and internet service providers. ZebOS enables Furukawa Electric's "FX7200" to implement Pseudo Wire Redundancy across multiple Packet Switched Networks (PSNs).
ZebOS has a successful track record in a wide variety of network equipment deployed in the global telecommunications market. With its unique modular architecture, ZebOS facilitates the development and integration of networking devices and helps network equipment vendors and operators shorten product development cycles, thereby achieving a faster time to market. In addition to MPLS and key Layer 2/Layer 3 technologies, ZebOS supports leading-edge solutions including IPv6 and Carrier Ethernet to provide a robust and trusted network infrastructure for NGNs to enable high performance and capacity of network infrastructure, VPN, multicast service and video sharing.
In 2002, ACCESS and Furukawa Electric jointly developed a carrier-grade MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) router solution for a major Japanese telecommunications company to launch a managed IP-VPN service in Japan, one of the first implementations in the world. ACCESS and Furukawa Electric will continue to work together to develop new products that provide NGN solutions for operators worldwide.
"We are pleased that Furukawa Electric has chosen ZebOS for its FX7200," said Koichi Narasaki, president and CEO, IP Infusion. "We are proud to have supported Furukawa Electric since 2002. In addition to its deployment of ZebOS, Furukawa Electric is leveraging our Network Solutions Services, which provide network consulting, network equipment customization and testing. IP Infusion will continue to support Furukawa Electric in their time-to-market product development."
