IP Infusion Joins The Green Grid

  • Membership in Leading Global Consortium Strengthens Company's Commitment to Reducing Energy Use in Data Centers Worldwide

Sunnyvale, California, October 7, 2009 — IP Infusion Inc., an ACCESS company and provider of intelligent software for Next Generation Network (NGN) equipment manufacturers and converged IP service providers, today announced its membership in The Green Grid, a global consortium dedicated to advancing energy efficiency in data centers and business computing ecosystems. As a General Member, IP Infusion will participate in the development of metrics and measurements that will help advance energy efficiency in data centers worldwide.

IP Infusion's ZebOS® Network Platform provides mechanisms to virtualize network elements, thereby allowing its customers to develop energy efficient systems. With the company's latest release of ZebOS® 7.7, virtualization support has been expanded and now includes a complete suite of virtualization technologies that are unique to IP Infusion. Virtualization allows companies to optimize network equipment by partitioning the equipment to run ZebOS software on one piece of hardware versus several – thereby saving on the amount of hardware equipment required and in turn, saving on energy and space requirements.

"With tighter cost controls due to today's economic slowdown, companies need to look at their infrastructure to reduce their equipment and energy footprint," said Koichi Narasaki, president and CEO, IP Infusion. "By implementing our ZebOS software, IP Infusion customers save precious energy dollars by reducing their requirements for additional network equipment through more effective routing and switching software."

The Green Grid seeks to provide industry-wide recommendations on best practices, metrics and technologies that will improve overall data center and business computing energy efficiencies. By joining The Green Grid, IP Infusion is helping influence both developers and end users of data center technology.
