IP Infusion Joins OpenSAF Foundation
Sunnyvale, California, July 21, 2009 — IP Infusion, an ACCESS company and provider of intelligent software for Next Generation Network (NGN) equipment that enables service providers to offer state-of-the-art Ethernet services, today announced that the company has joined the OpenSAF Foundation. The OpenSAF Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to facilitate the work of the OpenSAF project and to promote the use of the middleware consistent with Service Availability™ Forum (SA Forum) specifications, under the LGPLv2.1.
"IP Infusion is a well recognized provider in network management and routing platforms to the telecommunications equipment industry," said Alan Meyer, president of OpenSAF Foundation. "We look forward to IP Infusion’s contribution and leadership to the Foundation, and the industry at large, by expanding the installed base and range of applications that use the OpenSAF high availability middleware."
The OpenSAF Foundation was established by leading communications and enterprise computing companies to facilitate the OpenSAF Project and to accelerate the adoption of the OpenSAF code base in commercial products. Members are motivated by a desire to enable a base platform ecosystem consistent with open specifications and using an open source model that is capable of delivering products to meet market demands.
"The OpenSAF Foundation is integral to the growth of our industry, with an already established community of service providers leveraging OpenSAF middleware," said Koichi Narasaki, president and CEO, IP Infusion. "Open specifications and software portability are key elements to our success at IP Infusion. This opportunity will allow us to contribute our industry experience and reinforce the activities of the OpenSAF Foundation moving forward."
IP Infusion's joining of the OpenSAF Foundation follows a recent announcement that the company's engineering, support and network solutions services organizations have been appraised as fully compliant at Maturity Level 3 with Carnegie Mellon's Software Engineering Institute's Capability Maturity Model® Integration for Development (CMMI®) Version 1.2. CMMI is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes. Achieving this CMMI Level 3 Certification is validation of IP Infusion’s commitment to provide the highest quality products and services to customers.
